Sheila Erwin founded Medical A/R Revenue Solutions, LLC in 2007 as a Medical Practice Management Consultant. She began her career in Medical Practice Management in 1988 as a front desk receptionist. Over the next 10 years she conquered every position in a Medical Practice including: Billing, Coding, A/R management, Human Resource Manager, Compliance Officer and Board Director of a $40,000,000 facility.
Sheila received not only on the job training, but also worked to gain professional certifications to properly reflect her robust experience in the Medical Practice Management field. Sheila received her Certified Coder Provider (CCP) credentials from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) in 1991, her Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentials from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) in 1998, her Certified Compliance Officer credentials from the American Institute of Compliance Professionals (CCO) in 2000, and her Certified Professional Practice Manager (AAPC) credentials in 2014. Due to the overwhelming interest in professional coder certification by the general medical practice community, Sheila founded the Tallahassee Chapter of American Academy of Professional coders, which now has over 125 local members. Sheila remains active on the local chapter board, speaking on coding, billing and practice management topics.
